Kuratiert von Adelina von Fürstenberg, thematisiert die 4. Thessaloniki Biennale von September 2013 bis Januar 2014 das Mittelmeer als geographische Region. Obertitel: „Old Intersections – Make it New“, Untertitel der Hauptausstellung: „Everywhere But Now“ – einer so vage wie der andere, in den Worten der Kuratorin noch einmal um philosophische Dimensionen ausgeweitet: „Everywhere but Now broadens also the concept of hic and nunc by giving a wider significant: a vision that adheres to the ideals of existentialism and recognizes man’s fragility in his condition over: the Being there, Dasein of Heidegger. In addition, we can perceive in the title the fundamental character of Dasein as Being-in-the-world, in taking the world as horizon of the project.” Ähnlich ausladend auch das Programm, das neben der Hauptausstellung mit 50 KünstlerInnen aus 25 Ländern (u.a. Ghada Amer, John Armleder, Inci Eviner, Parastou Forouhar, Khaled Jarrar, Gülsün Karamustafa, Ange Leccia, Adrian Paic, Peter Wüthrich, Raed Yassin) „5 Muserums´Movement in Thessaloniki“ zeigt, darunter im SMCA die umfassende Schau „Costakis Collection an dthe Russian Avantgarde“ mit über 250 Werken, „Tradition-Reversal im State Museum of Contemporary Art (Kurator: Katerina Koskina, SMCA President) und eine dokumentarische Aufarbeitung der Verehrung von Saint Mamas im Museum of Byzantine Culture.
